In 1936, John F. Kennedy and his brother Joseph Jr. spent the summer working at the J-Six Ranch near Benson, Arizona. During their stay, they assisted in constructing an adobe office building on the ranch, which owner John G. F. Speiden referred to as "the house that Jack built."
